At Accu Auto Care LLC, we help our Hagerstown customers' cars run as cleanly and efficiently as they possibly can. We provide a range of emissions testing services to ensure that your car is running and driving its best, as well as complying with all local smog regulations. Should a problem arise with any of your vehicle's emission systems, we provide the parts and expertise to get you back on the road. Accu Auto Care LLC can replace mufflers/catalytic converters, refill diesel exhaust fluid, and make sure the full range of filters in your vehicle's exhaust system are working perfectly.

Regulators understand that older cars simply can't meet modern emissions standards without extensive modifications. For newer cars however, passing a smog test is a requirement of road legality. Call us at 301-665-9180 to learn more about the emissions requirements for your vehicle.

Emissions testing (also known as smog testing) is a vital part of the maintenance of your vehicle. E-tests provide your mechanic with important information about your car's engine and exhaust system. If important components, like your car's catalytic converter aren't working properly, the car isn't running as it was intended to by the manufacturer. Inefficiency costs you extra money in fuel and does unnecessary harm to the planet. Emissions testing can also affect the value of a vehicle you're trying to sell; while you can still sell a car without a valid e-test certification, you'll get more money for one that has passed the test.

There are several reasons that a car may fail its emissions test. There may be a problem with the vehicle's fuel system adding too much fuel to the air-fuel ratio required for proper combustion within the cylinders of the car's engine. This is known as "running rich" and results in the smell of gasoline from fuel passing through the engine and exhaust system without being fully burnt. Causes of this issue range from faulty fuel injectors to issues with the engine's control computer. There may also be problems with oxygen sensors or the vehicle's ignition system. At Accu Auto Care LLC, we use a complete set of diagnostic equipment to determine the problem and fix it quickly, explaining every step of the process to you, our valued patron. Call us at 301-665-9180 or send us an email to arrange a health check for your car's emissions system today!

I could not have asked for a better experience. Eugene was transparent on everything that needed done and they had the car in and out quickly. Seems trivial but Eugene texting me since my cell service was bad. I hope to not have to have any car work done again soon but will definitely be back. Great experience! quotes-image

I came to Accu Auto after having a bad experience with another shop. I don’t want any trouble, so I won’t name them. Let’s just call them a totally made up fictional name like “Vitzjerald” for the purpose of this review. I took my Silverado to Vitzgerald for an engine light, and they said it was a bad evap vent solenoid. So they replaced it for $433 parts and labor. I drove the truck home. The very next time I drove the truck, the engine light came on again. So I drove back to Vitzjerald and asked what was going on. They scanned the code and said it was something different, and would cost more to fix. That did not pass the sniff test with me. So I started looking for another shop and I chose Accu Auto because of the good reviews, even though I live about 15 miles away. They scanned the code and said it was the exact same problem as before - the evap vent solenoid. They replaced it. Only took a day to get my truck back. They showed me the part they took out. They indicated it is possibly not an OEM part. They also showed me that the bracket which comes with the part as part of an assembly when ordered new was rusted. So this indicates that Vitzjerald did one of three things: 1. They might have put in a junkyard part, 2. They ordered a non-OEM part that wasn’t a complete assembly and used my old bracket, or 3. They never actually replaced the part, just reset the code, and charged me as if they’d done the work. Thanks to Accu Auto, my truck runs great with no code. The repair was a little more, $499. But with the information I now have, I am going to go back to Vitzjerald and demand a refund. I will be taking all my vehicles to Accu Auto from now on.quotes-image
